Friends and Family Survey
The NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) is an important tool to help patients who use NHS services have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experience.
The FFT was created to help service providers and commissioners understand whether patients are happy with the service provided, or where improvements are needed. It’s a quick and anonymous way to give your views after receiving NHS care or treatment.
Filling out the FFT form
You’ll be asked the question “Overall, how was your experience of the service provided ?”
You can rank your answer from “very good” to “very poor”. You’ll have the opportunity to explain your score by adding feedback. This is important as we can can only make changes if we know exactly what is or is not working.
How will the results be used?
We will collate the results on a monthly basis and analyse them to see if any actions are required. Overall ratings are submitted to NHS England. Any anonymous comments from patients are retained for surgery information only. Survey results and patient comments are fed back internally to staff monthly.
FFT data is published on our website for information. Any actions from the feedback will also be published online and via our “You said – we did” display board in surgery.
